We had a nice Christmas

Published by Carol at 12:44 pm under Carol's Post

This year we began our Christmas celebration on our anniversary - December 17th.  Since we went out of town for Christmas we decided to open our presents at midnight on our anniversary.  After the crazy windstorm earlier that week, we thankfully got our power back on Saturday evening so that we could have the Christmas tree shining during that time.  We also had lots of hurricane holders with candles left from our wedding filling the room - it was beautiful!  We spent the day of our anniversary in Seattle - enjoying the sights and sounds of Christmas around Westlake Center, Pike Place, and Seattle Center.  We were also able to see the Nutcracker that evening - neither Doug nor I had seen it before and it was a fun and unique way to celebrate our December anniversary.

A few days later we left for Virginia where we spent the actual holliday with my family.  it was fun to spend time with my family - most of whom I hadn’t seen since our wedding.  We had a lot of time to relax, went to see the wonderful movie The Nativity, enjoyed the wonderful Christmas Eve service, and enjoyed the company of my friends and family who live far far away.
