Douglas and Carol

Well it’s here - a three day weekend! Yeay! Doug and I are going with our friends  Bill and Shawna to the Yakima Valley Wineries this weekend.  We’re looking forward to a nice weekend to relax and enjoy some beautiful weather.  We decided to wait until tomorrow to leave so that we can hopefully miss out on some of the traffic heading over the pass today.  It should be a fun time… Do any of you have fun plans for the weekend?  I’ll have to go pack my camera right now so that we can take some pictures to post :) 

Well we now officially have 19 days of school left.  Four weeks.  But who’s counting? It seems so much later than every where else in the country.  Most people I know back east are out next week or the week after.  But I know the time will fly by - I certainly have plenty to do before the end of the year! Summer is coming quickly! :) 

Speaking of summmer, I took Bruin to Lake Sammamish State Park yesterday for a nice long walk, and  there was so much cottonwood that it looked like it was snowing! I forget how much those trees drop every year.  We didn’t have anything like this where I grew up (at least that I remember!) so it’s still so amazing to me! Unfortunately I didn’t take my camera with me.  I’m sure if I had allergies I wouldn’t be so excited about it, but I kinda like the ‘warm snow’ effect it gives.  Bruin kept sneezing though as he’d go take a huge sniff of the piles of the cottonwood seeds and it would all stick to his nose! Ah, fun times in spring
