Amina Grace Easterly! (pronounced uh-meen-ah)
Amina is a Luganda word for “Amen.” It has always been a fun word my family has used at the end of prayers especially when everyone is home from Africa! We had been toying around with it as a middle name but after Carol looked up the meaning it was an immediate decision. As some of you know when Carol and I were married my father, who married us, stated that we would be a family of peace. Carol and I have held tight to this blessing ever since. Especially through the minor complication we faced through this pregnancy of the placenta being just a bit too low for a vaginal birth. So when Carol discovered that Amina means “Peaceful and Secure” just a few weeks ago there was no doubt! We had found our little girls name! It was a great confirmation of the beginning of this little girl’s destiny!
