Latest happenings
I was just re-reading my blog back in the days when i first started blogging… back when I had my own blog and Doug had his own blog. I wrote such long posts back then! Now you’re lucky to get a few words and a picture
But my priorities have changed and I don’t stay up on the computer until 1:00 in the morning anymore! So tonight I’m feeling reminicent and though I’d type a lot ![]()
Today we started a new parenting life group at our church. I’m excited to get to know the families in the group. It’s been a while since I’ve done a life group/home group. We want to develop a good basis for training up our children and are excited about the insight we will gain. Amina is doing well these days. She’s now much more proficient at pulling herself up to standing and does so all the time. We finally got her crib moved down so I won’t fear her falling out as she is standing up in bed whenever she wakes up. That makes it a little harder for her to fall back asleep when she wakes up at night as she has to lie back down before she can fall back asleep… but she’s learning
One of her favorite things to do over the last few weeks is to stick out her tongue and leave it there for 10-20 mintues… it’s really cute!

Here’s Amina and auntie Kerrianne sticking their tongues out at each other:

In other news, Doug and I enjoyed celebrating my 30th birthday last Friday. He decorated the bathroom with balloons and banners as he knew that was the first place I would go. Fun surprise
He let me sleep in, made me french toast, took care of Amina while I got a bubble bath, and then said he was leaving for work. He showed up 20 minutes later with flowers and said he forgot to tell me he was taking the day off! So we got to go to Coulon park and enjoyed some fish and chips and a walk along the water. Then we brought Amina home to stay with her auntie Kerrianne while we went to Seattle for some fun. We met up with 3 other couples for dinner at Beni Hana’s japense steakhouse, followed by shopping at half price books and coffee at B&O espresso. Then we went to see a movie - Eagle Eye - nice and full of action to keep us awake out past 11pm. We didn’t get home until 2, and then Amina woke up and wanted me to rock her back to sleep. We had lots of fun while we were out - quite the full day! But boy did we pay for it Saturday! I don’t really remember Saturday very well now… reminds of those sleepless newborn days
I was very blessed by my husband and friends on my birthday
All the pictures from that night are on Maralee’s camera, so you’ll have to take my word for it for now
Just a couple more fun pictures from about a month ago…
Amina crawled up to Bruin and laid down on him… she loves her puppy!:

She loves to help in the kitchen:
