Their Home!!!
It was good to see Mom and Dad come home on Tuesday night. I’m planning on spending as much time with them as possible in the next few days as they already are schedule to head out of town for over a week and I don’t see them slowing down after that. When they got home the first thing I did was to try to shake Mom’s hand. She did not want anything to do with that and went in for the hug. Guess she doesn’t know much about personal space huh… Dad was happy to see us all too and wanted to hug every neck. I think he ended up hugging a few that were not part of our group, oh well. We picked them up and headed straight to the church for a quick visit and tour. With all the work that has been done around the church while they were gone, Mom and Dad had to look hard to find anything that wasn’t changed. There has been a lot of remodeling going on inside and out of the church, but it is causing much to be cleaned up before Easter! After the extensive tour we headed back to Mom and Dad’s for family dinner with my other two sisters, Maralee and Kerri, and their families. We then moved into the living room for some long needed family time spending most of the conversation on getting caught up with how Brenda and Scott have been doing and then talking about what has been going on around here. The job for the evening was actually to try to keep Mom and Dad up as long as possible which they did really well as they finally crashed around 10:00 pm. On Wednesday night I ended up heading over to Mom and Dad’s again but was able to spend time with just them talking about how things have been going for me. But, they did not do as well staying up as the night before, Dad even fell asleep on me during the middle of one of our conversations. So, I just turned my attention over to Mom until he woke up again. They ended up heading to bed a bit early around 8:30 pm. On Thursday night (tonight) I got to take Dad and Mom out to dinner. Yes, I did take them to Red Robin so that Dad could have his Royal Red Robin Burger. We then went to see the movie “The Passion.” I warn them about the gruesome scenes but was not sure if Mom was truly prepared. I think she ended up missed about half of the movie as she kept hiding her eyes under her coat. It is such an impacting movie and even though it was my second time seeing it I still cried through most of it…
Anyways… I was able to work my way through 3000 pictures or so that Dad brought back and picked out around 100 that I really liked. Now just to warn you these pictures are predominantly of the Volz kids as I’ve been missing them an awful lot lately. So here are a few to wet your appetite but the rest can be found here: Uganda 2004
