This last weekend was very relaxing for me. I headed out of work on Friday a bit early to miss the traffic on my way to Mt. Vernon. I was really anticipating a good time with Chris and Jenni and was not disappointed. |
| The area around Mt. Vernon is very peaceful with all the farmlands and tulip fields. It is definitely a little more laid back then here at home. On Saturday morning I woke up a bit early to drive around alone enjoying the area. Not knowing where I was going I ended up in Laconner before the rush of people were there for the festivities of the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival. A few scenes caught my eye as I drove so I would stop and take pictures along the way. Unfortunately, as most tulip fields had already bloomed in previous weeks, they were not as photogenic as in years past. Luckily, Roozengaarde had managed to keep some fields still full of color. |

I believe that there are times we are given to renew our friendships with others and I felt this was one of those with Chris, Jenni, Aidan and the new little blessing on the way. I hope that you enjoy these pictures as a taste of the time I had in the Skagit Valley: Tulip Festival 2004 |
