Douglas and Carol

Oh my goodness.. it’s been a while since we’ve updated… but we’ve just been so busy! I’m officially on summer break now! It is so nice to have a job where I can take the summers off! This week I’m helping out at Vacation Bible School at church and having a blast. It’s really fun to be able to spend time helping out on weekday mornings and see the kids so excited to be learning about Jesus. Plus it’s been fun to get to know more people at chuch this way.

So that’s what’s keeping me busy in the mornings this week… and i’ll tell you it’s much more fun to get up and go to VBS rather than getting up to go to work! However, I do have something keeping me busy in the afternoons as well. His name is Bruin, he’s about 11 pounds, very energetic, and full of love Yep - Doug and I got a puppy! A now 8 week old chocolate lab. We’ve had him for 3 days now… and he’s really adjusting quite well. Although I have to tell you that watching a puppy can be quite draining! Luckily he wants to be near me at all times, so he’s kinda like my shadow when I’m home. But when he’s out playing, he could turn at any minute and decide he wants to go potty on the floor… so it’s a constant watching game. Luckily when he’s gone inside it’s usually been on the hardwoord floors rather than the carpet He’s really doing great though! He is learning to enjoy being in his crate for naps and sleeping time - and even goes in vouluntarily much of the time. I’m so glad that Doug was big on deciding to crate train our dog - i know at first I thought it was kinda mean to put him in a small area for much of the day. But now I see that he uses that as a safe place to lay and chew his toys And it definately helps with the potty training! We can handle a few whines for the long term good of our puppy! So enough details about those things… I’ll tell you how cute he his! Or better yet - show you! Just imagine him running across the lawn, fetching a ball, with those cute ears flopping as he runs with his paws that are still too big for his body. Here’s Bruin…
