Just some ramblings…

Okay, this post really goes no where… but people keep checking so I have to give you something to read! You know, fall has always been one of my favorite seasons. I love the changing colors of the leaves and the way they crunch under your feet as you take a walk. Of course I’m mostly remembering leaf crunching from my days growing up in Virginia… there are a lot more deciduous trees there… and the leaves that fall stay dry long enough to make that crunching noise. I don’t think there’s much crunching going on around here with all the rain we’ve been having lately. But anyway… I love the warm colors of the fall - reds, oranges, deep yellows. There’s something almost perfect about curling up in a blanket with a good book by a fire in the fall (now if only I had a fireplace!) I love pumpkins and all the yummy things you can make with them. I was feeling especially domestic this month and I bought a sweet pumpkin, baked it, and made puree from the pulp inside to make some baked goods. We’ve had some delicious pumpkin bread and pumpkin muffins over the past month. I also love to bake… although I hadn’t done much of it since the beginning of summer, so it was nice to bake again too.
And did I mention how much I love pumpkin spice lattes? I remember the first time I heard about them I thought “how gross! Who would drink that?” Then I had a sip… and it was all over from there! I’ve been so good about making lattes on my home Barista machine we got for our wedding but now I have to stop at Starbucks to get the yummiest drink ever! I wasn’t creative enough to try to make my own pumpkin spice lattes
Today I noticed that Starbucks has switched to their Christmas cups… and it reminds me of last year at this time - preparing for my wedding… fun memories! Isn’t it funny how such a little thing can take me back and bring out the biggest smile? As much as I loved last fall, this fall is even better… something to do with being married
Okay, I’ve rambled long enough… Hope everyone has enjoyed the start of November!
